CUSTOM APPLICATIONS
A common issue our clients run into is finding an off-the-shelf solution that meets their needs to manage key company data. While most off-the-shelf applications offer some degree of customization, even after spending additional time and money making customizations you run the risk that the result still doesn't quite fit all your requirements. Another common issue we see with off-the-shelf solutions is they can be overly complicated, trying to be all things to all people, and in the end not being efficient for your particular workflow which inevitably results in poor user adoption.
The advantage of our custom solution that meets your needs to manage key company data is that from the ground up the solution is designed with your exact requirements in mind. Another huge advantage when going the custom solution route is our ability to integrate with your existing systems, like accounting or document management, to provide a seamless experience whenever possible.
CLIENT INTAKE WORKFLOW
When taking on a new client at a firm there is often a workflow to get the new client's information into the various internal systems so that work for the client can begin. This process can involve many departments and adherence to an array of business logic requirements. We have created applications that implement these types of workflows. These solutions often have to interact with other systems like accounting and document automation systems.
CASE OR CLIENT MANAGEMENT
If a client or case management application doesn't align with the type of data you want to track or doesn't match your workflow it isn't really a solution. We have created custom applications for teams of attorneys to help them process cases dealing with everything from real estate to intellectual property. In all of these applications the data being managed is highly specialized. Even more crucial to a successful solution can be the specialized tasks or workflows that reflect how your team works with their data. We work with our clients to bring their natural work process into the application so they can continue to work in the same manner but with more efficiency.
MOVING FROM EXCEL TO A MULTI-USER RELATIONAL DATABASE
When teams or individuals have complex data to track and no designated system to use they often turn to a solution they are familiar with. This solution of first resort (or last resort) is often Microsoft Excel. While we have seen some amazing lengths people have gone to get Excel to do things it was never really designed to do, in the end Excel isn't a real solution as a database. One of the biggest draw backs of Excel is that it isn't a multi-user application. Only one person on a team can be in the Excel data at a time. This often leads to people making copies of the Excel workbook and making changes in the copy. We take these Excel files and move the data and business logic into a relational database (Microsoft SQL Server) and create a web application so many users can interact with the data at the same time.
REPORTS \ DASHBOARDS
Getting data out of your various systems is key to any organizations success. Today, there every reason to expect getting the data you want, how you want, when you want.
CLIENT \ CUSTOMER DASHBOARD
When you have various systems in your organization it can be extremely useful to create an easy to use view that brings together the important data from each system. An example of this would be a client lookup. We have created web applications for law firms where an attorney can quickly find a certain client and see billing information, important dates and recently created documents in a matter of seconds.
LEGACY REPORT INTO EXCEL
One common request we get is to take an existing report from a legacy system and convert into an Excel workbook. Many legacy systems were designed to produce paper reports which in today's paperless office is not very useful. Depending on the legacy system there a few approaches to this problem. Some solutions might query the legacy data directly and when that isn't possible converting or parsing the output file might be an option.
SSRS REPORTS ( SQL SERVER REPORTING SERVICE )
We have helped our clients with their existing SSRS reports and designed new ones. When creating a report the database query behind the report can have a huge impact on how long it takes for the report to generate. We have seen reports that used to take hours run finish in minutes after making some configuration and query changes.
INTEGRATIONS
Creating synergy between two or more of your existing applications can result in a huge return on your investment. People at your organization should not have to enter the same basic data into various systems.
WEB APIs
Web APIs are common standard way an organization can leverage external data. We have created solutions that leverage the APIs of Dun & Bradstreet, S&P Capital IQ, US PTO, Facebook and other social media sites.
SSIS ( SQL SERVER INTEGRATION SERVICE )
Microsoft SSIS is an enterprise data integration, data transformation and data migration tool built into Microsoft's SQL Server. It can be used for a variety of integration related tasks and can interact with many data sources. If you have to move data from one database to another and your organization has invested in Microsoft SQL Server this might be the tool for the job. We have successfully completed projects that automate the process of importing into internal applications.
MOVING TO THE CLOUD
Moving one of your applications into the cloud can be tricky if that application talks to another applications on your local network. Often your options to maintain internal integration is limited by the cloud service. We have worked with clients and cloud vendors to rework integrations with internal applications. Moving to the cloud doesn't have to mean losing some features\functions.
APPLICATIONS
Maximizing the utility of your internal applications can often be achieved by programmatically interacting with them for a variety of benefits. We have created integrations with many accounting packages like Aderant Expert, Juris, Rainmaker and Elite. We have also helped clients leverage their document management platforms like iManage. Basically, if it has a SQL Server backend that application's data can be leverage in other places.
